Amal is a seasoned author specialising in language translation, holding a BA in French and Italian (Royal Holloway, University of London) and MA in Applied Linguistics (Birkbeck, University of London).

 

She is fluent in five languages including French, Arabic, Somali, Italian and Spanish Porteguese and English. Amal has been authoring translation work for a decade and recent noteable work includes Qamus (2012, editor) a specialist Somali to English phrase book.

 

Amal is an expert in the field of lanaguge and dialect analysis and is a regular advisor to UK legal firms focussing on Somali dialects.
